

Bonnie Jean Zander, 68, a winter visitor to Mesa originally from Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away at her Mesa retreat surrounded by her loving family and under the tender and exceptional care of Hospice of the Valley. She had battled and fought a brave fight against cancer. Bonnie had retired from bookkeeping after 20+ years and found her “Fun Job” and continued working with the Herbergers department store. Planting and growing her flowers was a great passion to her. She would always look forward to entertaining and cooking for her family and friends. She loved her dogs and was greeted on Wednesday, January 28th by the wagging tails of her sweet Kuki and Sugar. Bonnie loved to exercise and her favorite activities included bicycling, running, playing golf and roller blading. She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Terry, her daughters Jessica and Jill, her siblings Andy, Don, Loretta, and Duane, her beautiful granddaughter Danae, and also her precious baby Jelly Bean. She was also preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Clementine Ehlis. A service celebrating her life will be held in Bismarck at a later date when her family returns.
