Our daughter, Briana Leigh Cisick, passed away on July 28, 2025, in Apache Junction, Arizona. She was 33 years old. Briana was born on March 14, 1992, in Pennsylvania. From the very beginning, she was full of light - curious, funny, creative, and always moving to her own rhythm. She had a quick smile, a stubborn streak, and a heart that felt things deeply. She made people laugh, and she had a way of pulling others in close.
Life wasn't easy for Briana, and the road she walked in her adult years was filled with pain, addiction, and distance. For the past decade, we rarely saw her. She struggled with homelessness and the kind of heartbreak that's hard to put into words. But we never stopped loving her. Not for a second.
She was still our daughter. She was still someone's sister, someone's mother. She mattered.
Briana is the birth mother of Isaiah, Noah, and Riana. While their time with their mom was short, we will make sure they grow up knowing who she was before life got so hard - full of energy, joy, and love.
Briana is also survived by her sisters Christina Shrader, Melissa Alcorn, and Olivia Yerger, who carry their own deep memories of her. And there are friends out there - some we know, some we don't - who remember her not as the woman lost in addiction, but as the girl who once danced barefoot in the yard, who made them laugh in school, who shared dreams and late-night talks.
There were also people who knew Briana in her final years - people who, even through the haze of her struggles, still saw her light. They saw the same spark, humor, and deep sensitivity we knew in her younger days. Their compassion, and their ability to see the whole of who she was, has brought us comfort.
We will gather to remember Briana on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at
Mariposa Gardens Memorial Gardens and Funeral Care
6747 E Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ 85206.
If you knew her, even from long ago, and want to remember her with us - you are welcome.
How We'd Like to Honor Her
In honor of Briana's life, our family invites you to support programs that offer mental health care, recovery services, and
hope to adults facing challenges like those Briana endured.
We also invite you to consider making a donation to Life Choices Women's Clinic, a nonprofit that was deeply meaningful in Briana's life. This organization supported her decision to carry her last child-a choice that mattered greatly to her-and provided the resources and care she needed to give her baby a healthy start. Their support also helped pave the way for one of Briana's sisters to adopt and provide a loving home.
You can donate in Briana's honor at:

More than anything, we ask that you carry forward compassion-for those struggling with addiction, homelessness, or invisible pain. Whether through supporting local organizations, volunteering, advocating for treatment access, or simply choosing kindness when it's hardest, your love makes a difference.
May we all learn to see others as whole people-not just by their suffering, but by their humanity.
