Carlene Sharp was born May 25th, 1930 in Oklahoma to parents Edna Mae and Estras S Sharp. She was the 6th of 9 kids. She married Robert Draper in 1948 and had 4 children during that marriage - Bobby Dale, Ken, Susan and Lonny. In 1968, Carlene married Joseph Goodman and they had two kids together, Jolene and Jeremy. Carlene gave birth to six children but called herself the mother of nine, always including the three children (Joe, Don and Lynda) that Joe brought to the marriage.
Carlene devoted her life to serving others. She was a tireless mother and grandmother - cooking large amazing meals to feed everyone, famously "swatting" babies to sleep and dropping everything to be wherever she was needed. She served in many leadership positions in her church - always serving the women, youth and children in any way she could. There were many times that the entire meal she had cooked for her family ended up on someone elses table when she heard of their need. She collected money for UNICEF, volunteered at the elementary school and visited the sick and elderly on a regular basis. Her greatest project started in 1995 when Joe first became ill - she served and cared for him until his death in 2006.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 4 sisters, her son Robert Dale Draper, grandson Trey Hull and her loving husband Joe Goodman. She is survived by her children Kenny (Darlyne) of Mesa, Susan (Lyle) of Chandler, Joe (Sheryl) of Pima, Don (Donna) of Eagar, Lynda (Marion) of Hurley, NM, Lonny (Lisa) of Cave Creek, Jolene (Alan) of Mesa and Jeremy (Shelly) of Meadow Vista, CA - 34 grandkids and 19 great grandkids.
