Charles William Free “Bill” was born October 15, 1925 in the Township of Clay, Ohio to Robert Newton Free and Mary Jane McElwain. He was the baby in the family of eight children. In 1945, while serving in the Navy, he met the love of his life Betty in Monterey, California. They had two wonderful children and created a great life from there forward. Bill proudly served as a security guard for Rockwell International where astronauts presented to him the Silver Snoopy Award for exemplary security service. Bill was a union leader as well as a devout Christian who recently celebrated his 67th wedding anniversary with Betty on December 1st, 2012. Bill will truly be missed. He leaves behind his dear wife Betty B. Free; his children Frank Free of Lake Havasu City and Judith Jamieson of Phoenix; his grandchildren Matthew J. Jamieson and Shannon M. Rover; his great-grandchildren Ethan Jamieson, Ann Jamieson, Andrea Jamieson and AJ Rover. He also leaves behind his dear friends Don and Carol. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park 6747 East Broadway Road Mesa, AZ 85206.
