Claire "Quinn" Marie Chione

On May 23, 2023, Claire Marie Chione, known as Quinn, unexpectedly passed away at the young age of 19 years old in Phoenix, Arizona. As the 8th of 9 children, Quinn was born on December 31, 2003 to Teresa Chione (King) and Kurt Chione in Aurora, Illinois, where she (they/them) resided for most of her childhood before moving to Phoenix with her family.

Quinn was a unique human with a deep and old soul. As a child, she was often quiet and not as outwardly rambunctious as her older brothers and sisters, but when she spoke, her words were powerful with truthful conviction. Quinn was always strong in her beliefs as they were deeply rooted in her heart and soul. To be in her life meant to have a loyal ally with unwavering commitment and a strong force of support. To love and be loved by Quinn was the privilege of a lifetime.

Throughout her short years on this earth, Quinn demonstrated courage by honoring who she was and always prioritizing what was good and true, especially in the face of adversity. She always lived in the flow of abundant creative energy and explored her artistic abilities through painting, song writing, and crafting. Quinn also had a special place in her heart for animals and children. Her cats were spoiled by their Mama Quinn and her nieces and nephews were lovingly doted upon by their aunt.

Quinn is survived by her parents, Teresa and Kurt Chione, her brothers, sisters, and their spouses, Margaret (Kasey) Raine, Andrew (Nissa) Chione, John (Jaime) Chione, Martina Chione, Matthew (Cassidy) Chione, Cecilia (Tony) Hammons, Agnes Chione, and Luke Chione. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Braden, Zayden, Joseph, Elsie, James, Bernard, and Isabelle, her maternal grandmother, Janet Marie King (Gerding), her paternal grandfather, Joseph Arthur Chione, and her aunts and uncles, Brian (Tammy) King, Mary (Jim) Babic, Jeff (Dee) Chione, and Cherie (Tim) Miller, and many cousins. Quinn is preceded in death and eternally reunited with her maternal grandfather, Richard William King and her maternal grandmother, Nancy Jean Chione (Dabney).

A funeral service for Claire will be held Friday, June 9, 2023 at 9:00 AM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Melcher Roses, 43 South Stapley Drive, Mesa, Arizona 85204. Following the service will be a graveside service at 10:30 AM at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 1562 East Baseline Road, Mesa, Arizona 85204.The family has created a page to gather donations to assist in the unexpected costs associated with this tragedy, Any amount is greatly appreciated during this difficult time.
