When I hear "Uncle Tom", there is an instantaneous flash back to childhood. Hearing the roar of your truck come into the drive way, and Dad trying to calm Doug and I down as we rushed out to give you a hug. You and Dad watching the football game, and laughing so hard about Lord knows what. 
Thank you for the wonderful memories, the smiles, and being such a positive addition to our family. Sending so much love. Until we meet again

To Tom's Family,
Tom started at SRP's PAB facility a few months before I did back in '85. Alan Steele was in the office. Collette's desk was right outside it, followed by Tom's, then Bob Booker's. While we all got along, Tom and I hit it off right away. We watched seasons of football and raised our share of "dust" together. He was good to and with my Kids. Was always there to help, usually with a story and laugh to go with it. Did his best to do right by you and his Mom. As a matter-of-fact kind of person, he told me of things that he admired about his brothers. In short, maybe without knowing it, he set the right example, his gift to us. We would be wise to follow it.

Uncle Tom; You were one of Dad's best friends and were nothing but awesome to my sister and I when we were growing up. Wish we could've hung out and had a cold one together. Of all the family and friends in a persons life, you have and always will remain a part of my fond memories. Big loveable guy in his lil' big truck hangin' out with us. RIP Tom, gonna miss you.

I'm sorry to hear of Tom's passing. Tom made his mark in life for sure in the hearts of many and he will be missed indeed. He was alot of fun to be around therefore it was always easy to immediately gravitate to him at any function. Every time we think or speak about his "stories", the fun, the laughter we shared with Tom we will again celebrate the parts of his life that he shared with us.  I'm thankful for the fun memories. My thoughts and prayers to both family and friends.

My sincerest condolences to Tom's family and friends. I met Tom in his younger years when my mother Marian Clapper baby-sat Tom and his brothers Dale and Donnie. He was a happy, funny little kid. One of a kind then also! Many members of my family kept in touch with Evelyn and her sons through the years developing close friendships with all of them. He will be missed.

My deepest sympathy goes out to my cousins Dale, and Donnie. I know Tom will be greatly missed and that him and auntie Evelyn are with you. We are never ready for a loss of a loved one but take comfort in knowing he is in a better place and isn't suffering. I wish i had gotten to know him like everyone one else did. Tom was always funny. When he laughed you had to join in even if you didn't know why. He lived his life as he chose to. He was loved and will be greatly missed.

Tom will definitely be missed, and his trademark sense of humor and laughter will always be remembered by the many people who's lives he touched. We enjoyed the many conversations /stories he told at family gatherings and the thought of his laughter will always make us smile.Times we shared together wouldn't have been nearly as much fun without the "spark" Tom always some how contributed!!! :) Tom brought laughter with him every where he went. Let's never forget the good times and appreciate all the memories he gave us. I think they broke the mold when they made him. He would want all of us smiling.

Also, my deepest sympathy to the Oliver and Rainwater families, ("my other family"). Although your hearts hold deep sadness at the loss of Tom, they also hold the blessings of treasured memories and love you shared.That love will always be a part of you. I pray that God will comfort your hearts, and carry you through this time of great sadness to a place of peace. I wanted to share my condolences with the Oliver and Rainwater families. May Tom rest in peace until the Lord comes for his saints. I only had a few chances to meet Tom, and found him to be a good and pleasant guy. My heart goes out to those that knew him and loved him. Long live his memory and his name.

You have got to be one of the funniest people I have ever known. I hate to admit, but the most I have ever laughed was after Uncle Jim's funeral at your Mom's house. You and Donnie had me peeing my pants. You will be missed in this world, but Heaven is a much happier place because you are there.  Miss you!

Tom. where do I start.  It seems for most of our lives we never got to be around each other because of someone elses problems.  It has been great having you as a cousin all these years especially coaching pop warner together.  RIP cousin. Brian Short.

Tom once told me about his frustration over all the football bets he won, but we never paid.  He told me that all he ever wanted was for someone to acknowledge that he knew more about football than they did.  In fact, he told me exactly what he wanted to be said.

Tom, I always hoped our paths would cross once again but I guess it will have to be another time another place. All those nights we spent cruising main in high school, I will never forget those memories. RIP Tom.

I'm sorry I never got around to sending you more of my St. Croix pictures. The only reason I made my cousin take me to see 'Buster the Drinking Pig', was because of you! I have a few pictures of that pig that I will share with the East Valley crew..

It was great to work with you and know you as a friend. Packy & my golf game will never be the same without you. We were to meet Sunday and you buy me wings after the Cardinals beat the Redskins.  Thanks for the good times on the golf course as you will be missed.

After 25 years of hanging out on breaks at work, golf, the quest for perfect chinese food, trips halfway to Montana, and talks about hot rods and Samoa,  it seems we are currently on another break.  Next time you will have to think of a game I can win. BTW, I never stopped you when you told the same story a few times, because I wanted to know if you were going to add something cool.  I feel like I grew up in Mesa and rode around with you in that roadrunner.
What I really am trying to say is you are kind, generous, and always want to make sure everyone is included in the fun.    
Go Warriors, Skins, and whatever MCC's mascot is.  Until our next break Tom.

Donnie and family, I have known Tom for about 25 years and recently, I worked with him at DOC and although I thought I knew Tom, there was much more to see in him.  As with many others, Tom had me in on many of the dive trips abroad.  He was hilarious while WHITE KNUCKLING IT ONBOARD all the flights.  He was quite the orgainzer when we arrived, and the caretaker of all of us, while diving the great blue sea.  I was happily surprised to find that he loved to cook and was a big fan of Paula Deens stuff, which he often shared with us here at DOC. He was so incredibly giving and generous and altough he acted all tough and bad... I loved getting him to break down and smile while all redfaced.  He will be missed by many of us here and throughout SRP.  Godspeed my friend, I'm glad the good Lord brought you my way, one more time, before he found you a better place. Watching the Redskins play the Cowboys just won't be the same anymore without you. Who am I going to find to buy me wings now when the Redskins lose? Randy and the girls will miss our football "discussions". The boys will miss you keeping tabs on them.

I'll always treasure our Uno games at lunch and miss your sense of humor and your laugh. I'm glad to know that you are at peace now.

Dear Uncle Tom,

Thank you for always being our sun on a cloudy day. You were always the jokester who made us laugh. Even though you and dad (Don) would tell the same silly stories every year, its what made our family get together's so much fun.  I hope you know that we were there with you in your final moments. We love you and will miss you very much!
