Corwin Sidney Bess Jr. beloved husband and father died Thursday 2 July 2015. Pat, as he was known by family and friends was born in Conneaut, Ohio to Corwin Sidney Bess Sr. and Lucille Ann McCarthy, 28 November 1924. He loved his country and enlisted in the Navy 6 July 1942 at the age of 17 as a radarman, and served on the USS Stockman and the USS Planter where he was seriously injured and received the Purple Heart.
He married his sweetheart, Joan Joy Worth 20 August 1949. A long time resident of Mesa, AZ, he enjoyed singing and acting and was involved in many community theater productions. He is survived by his wife, his two daughters, Marla Jean Bishop and Cheryl Lynn Cox, 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 8 July 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Love of Christ Lutheran Church with a family luncheon to follow at the Leisure World Club Room.
