Daniel Herrera Jr, 83, passed away suddenly in his home with his beloved wife Joan at his side on February, 25th, 2021, in Mesa, Arizona. Daniel was born in Chicago (May 19, 1937) to Daniel and Maria Herrera. A proud veteran, Herrera enlisted in the United States Marines after high school, and later became a successful Custom House Broker in the Chicago land area where he began his lifelong love of golf; a talent he further cultivated upon his retirement in Arizona. Dan grew up in the windy city and had five older brothers and one younger. In addition, Dan had three older sisters and three younger sisters. The Great One (as we affectionately referred to him) is preceded in death by his eldest daughter Gail, his son in-law Mike Thomas as well as all of his older siblings and his parents. Survivors in his immediate family include his beloved wife Joan (of 64 years), his son Michael and his wife Cheryl, his daughter Brenda, his daughter Debbie and her husband Mark, his daughter Denise and her husband John, and his son Daniel and his wife Angela. Dan also leaves behind twelve grandchildren as well four great grandchildren. Due to Covid restrictions, only private services are planned at this time.
