Born on February 27, 1974 in St. Louis, Missouri, he was raised in Corning, Arkansas, where he graduated from Corning High School in 1992. He went on the delayed enlistment program while in high school, immediately entering the Army after graduation, as a Calvary Scout, serving honorably 20 years, until his retirement in 2012. Darren met Shannon Coyle in 1993, and they married each other in May of 1996. After his retirement from the Army, they moved to Arizona in 2012 to be near family. He loved his family dearly, and loved to watch football, cheering on the New Orleans Saints.
Darren is survived by his wife of 19 years, Shannon; son Kiowa Decker; mother Donna Hawkins; brothers Mike and Ryan Decker; sister Renee and her husband Dennis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 30, at 2 pm at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care, followed by a funeral service at 3 pm at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care.
