Dewey Runner ‘Pete’ Hines, 74, of Mesa, Arizona, died September 22, 2010. He was born on September 24, 1935 in Benleo, Kentucky to the late Johnnie William Hines and Eunice Pansy Runner Hines of Richardsville, Kentucky. He grew up in Richardsville and attended Richardsville High School. He joined the United States Air Force in August of 1955 and served his country as an Air Force Defensive Systems Trainer retiring as a Master Sergeant after 24 years of service. He also served as a police officer for the city of Bowling Green, Kentucky from 1959-1960.
Funeral is at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona with military honors.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Shirley Ann (Biggs) Hines of Mesa, Arizona; son Barry Hines and his wife Linda of Mesa, Arizona; son Mark Hines and his wife Valerie of Centennial, Colorado; sister Jonell Trott of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren Bradley, Russell and his wife Raquel, William, Rachele, Katherine and Thomas Hines; one great-grandson Andrew Runner Hines as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
