

Dwaine Dennis Babb, born August 27, 1926 in Cambridge, MN, to Raymond and Cecelia Mae [West] Babb, passed away on May 3, 2015, at the age of 88 in Mesa, AZ. Dwaine graduated from Cambridge High School in 1944 and immediately entered the US Navy. He served in the Pacific on the USS Rudyerd Bay. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Dwaine worked on the Oar Boats in the Great Lakes. His favorite boat was the “Kickapoo”. On February 27, 1948, he married the love of his life, Ruth Robertson in North Branch, MN and together they raised two children and spent 67 years married. While in Cambridge, Dwaine was a member of the Lions Club and a Lifetime Member of the American Legion and, until retiring, he worked as the Post Master for the U.S. Post Office. He also went on to take college courses at a junior college in Cambridge. He was very involved with his church, Christ the King, as a trustee and an usher. Dwaine loved to find ways to keep busy and enjoyed making stained glass, creating wood working projects, such as bird houses; he also enjoyed playing Bingo and the machine poker at the casino, but most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. Dwaine is survived by his loving wife Ruth; son Michael (Barbara) Babb; daughter Patricia Foster; his grandchildren Andrea Sargent, Stephanie Babb, Matthew (Ashton) and Brian Foster and Jennifer Parker and his great grandchildren Abigail Sargent, Gabriel Nelson and Brayden Foster, as well as one great granddaughter on the way, Selah Grace Foster. He is also survived by special niece Zoie DeMuth of Bellingham WA. Dwaine was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
