Parents are Dave and Bonia Peterson.
His hobbies included fishing as number 1, and working with wood. Later he was introduced to the Guitar by a coworker and that became number 1 until his passing.
He worked several jobs from putting in dropped ceilings to fencing and last but not least his current job at A1 Golf Carts in Leasing which he loved.
He met the love of his life Tammy Kessler and new 9 year old daughter Samantha Kessler (Stockton) in 1991, Victorville, Ca.
He was great at building fences and no terrain or fence type was a challenge. One time I was working with him so he can teach me the fencing trade. I was shoveling gravel out of the back of the truck not looking where it was going an "SMACK" I accidentally smacked him in the face and I think I broke his nose with the shovel. Although I felt so bad, crying so hard, and he was in pain, all we could do was laugh. Just a funny story.
At one time, he loved to wittle wood (I remember the dolphin he created and it was amazing). During a snow storm in South Lake, Ca (Lake Isabella), he sculptured a life size hammerhead shark for a local contest and won.
Survived by daughter Samantha Jean Stockton & spouse Eric Stockton, mother in law Barbara Jean Brendel both in Bodfish, Ca.
He was a great father and stepped up when he didn't have to the past 30 years to ensure his daughter had a father figure that she could love as her own
Times may have not always been the greatest, and sometimes they were the best, no matter what the challenge was, Dwayne stepped up and made his life the best he could. No matter the ups and downs he had a purpose to be a loving son, father, nephew, and friend.
He was hardly confrontational and always mellow with people he encountered.
He always made sure I was enjoying life as best he could. He called me dork, and I called him dweeb. It was just fun to pick on each other when I was a kid. He seemed to know how to make me laugh. He taught me almost everything a child needs to learn from flying a kite, to dealing with life's challenges.
I remember the first time I met him, we all 3 went to the dollar movie theatre and watched Ace Ventura Pet Detective. After the movie, he was copying the crazy part of the movie of talking with his butt as we were walking out of the theatre and I was so embarrassed. He always tried to embarrass me, but because he was just such a goofball. He did it because he loved me and I always seemed to end my embarrassment with laughter when it came to him.
He is preceeded in death by his wife Tammy Kessler, his brother Raymond, and both sets of Grandparents.
Survivors include his parents, his daughter Samantha Stockton and her spouse Eric Stockton, his Mother-In-Law Barbara Jean Brendel, aunts, uncles and cousins. And of course Buddy, his beloved Dog.
There will be no services due to the Covid-19. A Memorial will be planned at a later date.
