Edgar Ulrich Gogl Jr. (Rich), was born on 6 April 1932 in Eugene Oregon. Rich graduated from Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, Oregon in 1950. He attended Oregon State University but was drafted into the United States Army in 1951. After basic training he served in Japan and Korea. He returned to El Paso, Texas where he was discharged and he attended Texas Western University, El Paso graduating in 1957. Rich worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad and worked on railroad construction in Western Australia. Returning to the United States, he was employed selling manufactured homes, manufactured home sites, and managing manufactured home parks. In retirement, he moved to Newport, Oregon.
Rich was preceded in death by his wife, June, his son Steve, and his daughter Gayle. He is survived by his soul mate Sharleen Harvey, daughter Celeste, and brother, Leon.
Rich died 5 February 2024 in Mesa, AZ. His remains will be inurned at Willamette National Cemetery at a later date to be announced.
