

Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; brother Melvin and sister Verlee; mother- and father-in-law and his sister-in-law Myrna.
Eldon is survived by his wife, Sharon Mulligan; his children: Garry (Evonne) Mulligan of Holdrege, Nebraska, Michael Mulligan of North Platte, Nebraska and Tamara (Brett) Mulligan-Tucker of Mesa, Arizona; Dawn Murphy of Grimes, Iowa, Deanna (Johnny Amador) Veik of Mesa, Arizona, Mitch (Melissa) Branting of Gilbert, Arizona and Matt (Amy) Branting of Gilbert, Arizona; sisters Charlene Schauer of Ord, Nebraska and Marjorie Benoit of Baldwinsville, New York; brothers-in-law Howard (Rhonda) Hawks of Omaha, Nebraska, Tom (Hulaine) Hawks of Gretna, Nebraska, and sisters-in-law Joanne (Don) Lubben of Bruning, Nebraska and Arlene Mulligan of Nashville, Tennessee; 22 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eldon graduated in 1957 from Ord High School. He worked at Frank’s Standard Oil, Clark Yanda Music and owned Mulligan’s Music in Ord, Nebraska. He moved to Arizona in 1986 where he worked for Home America, Silo and Bargain City as a salesman. Eldon was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Ord, Ord Elks, Ord Jaycees and the Ord Chamber of Commerce. He coached baseball for many years in Ord including Peewee, Pony, Midget, Legion and Town teams. He was inducted into the Nebraska Baseball Hall of Fame in 1985.
He was a member of the Velda Rose United Methodist Church. He was best known for his love of music and numerous solos that he sang.
A visitation will be at 12 noon Tuesday, May 13, 2014 followed by a funeral at 1:00 pm at Velda Rose United Methodist Church, 5540 E. Main Street, Mesa, Arizona. A Service will also be held at 1:00 pm Monday, May 19, 2014 at Ord First United Methodist Church in Ord, Nebraska.
