Eleanor Meyer was a woman of profound faith and love. Everyone who met her was impressed by her sweet personality, compassion and genuine care for other people. She provided a positive example to her four sons in so many areas of life and human relations – constantly encouraging them in their individual pursuits. “Ellie” was the daughter of a Lutheran pastor and continued to be involved in church work throughout her life. She grew up in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and Ohio. Her husband, Milt was also from a small town in Iowa. They both embraced traditional values and integrity.
Ellie enjoyed working at the local schools while her boys were growing up. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Ellie had close friends and was very loyal to them. Her grace was a blessing to those around her. We remember this kind woman as a mature soul who continually gave back to others and followed Biblical principles. Ellie was a blessing to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
Ellie was preceded in death by Milton her husband of 66 years, parents John and Rosena, and siblings Mary and Edgar. She is survived by her sister Ruth, sons James, Gary, David, and Douglas, her 2 Grandchildren Jennifer and Christopher, and Great Grandson Bison.
