Evelyn passed away on June 14, 2016 in Mesa, Arizona. She was born on February 23, 1923, in Gladstone, North Dakota. She is survived by two sisters Betty and Gerry, seven children (Brian [Yong], Duane [Joanne], Willard [Karen], Gayleen [Mike], Tim [Kathy], Don and Paul), eleven grandchildren (Tony, Scott, Matt, Brent, Crystal, Melissa, Lane, Jennifer, Jayce, Stephanie, Sam), fifteen great-grandchildren, and preceded in death by her husband Joe and her sister Ann Marie. Joe and Evelyn moved to Mesa, Arizona from North Dakota in 1963. Evelyn was a homemaker and loving wife, Mom, Grandma, and GG (great grandmother). She was a long term parishioner and dedicated volunteer at Christ the King Catholic Church. Respects can be paid Thursday June 16, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m., at Melcher Mortuary Chapel of the Roses, 43 S. Stapley Dr., Mesa, AZ; a Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Mass will be held Friday June 17, 2016 at 10 a.m., at Christ the King Church, 1551 E. Dana Ave., Mesa, AZ, with graveside services following at Valley of the Sun Cemetery, 10490 E. Chandler Heights Rd., Chandler, AZ.
