

Fay Vanden Heuvel, born April 17, 1921 in Cave Springs, Georgia to Robert Lee and Ada Caroline [New] Graham, passed away on September 4, 2016 at the age of 95. Fay met her late husband Van Vanden Huevel while he was on a business trip to Corona, California. They met when he invited her to dance. She invited him to attend church with her the next day and from then on he loved her and the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He and Fay traveled the world with Maranatha Volunteers International to assist in building churches and orphanages. Fay was very artistic and among her talents were crafting flower arrangements and making pencil sketches. She always had everyone’s best interest in mind and made sure to send every kid a card; she never missed a holiday or birthday. Fay was preceded in death by her first husband, Hubert Peeler Gupton (father of Cynthia); her second husband, Joseph James Bucalo Sr. (father Joseph Jr, Antoinette, Sara, and Cheryl) and her loving husband, Francis Henry "Van" Vanden Heuvel, who passed away on October 26, 2012; her step-son, Michael Vanden Heuvel; her sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Robert Prince; brothers and sister-in-law, Donald and Kathryn Graham and William Leland Graham and a grandson Jimmie Daley. She is survived by her children: Cynthia Brunner and her husband Joe, Joseph Bucalo, Antoinette Elliott and her husband Bill, Sara Lawton and her husband Bill, and Cheryl Clark and her husband Doug; step-children Steve Vanden Heuvel, Dan Vanden Heuvel, Gary Vanden Heuvel and Alvin Vanden Heuvel and his wife Lisa; her sister June Castellucci and her husband Al; brother David Graham and his wife Aileen as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm, Saturday, September 10 with a visitation one hour prior at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ 85206.
