Geoffrey Hugh Morgan was born on January 3, 1976, in Provo, Utah, to loving parents, Hugh and Luana Morgan. Geoff was named after his maternal grandfather, Geoffrey, who lived his entire life in New Zealand, where Geoff’s mother was born and raised. He loved his “kiwi” blood and heritage.
Geoff spent his childhood years in Rock Springs, Wyoming. One of six boys, born close in age, including an identical twin brother, Geoff had “built in” best friends growing up. Geoff spent many of those childhood years running free in the playground across the street and having boyhood adventures with his brothers. The best thing to come out of living in Rock Springs was the relationships made there. Geoff’s childhood neighbor, Staci, became like a sister to Geoff and the entire family, and is still considered a sister to this day. Geoff admires her so much he named one of his daughters after her. Rock Springs also blessed Geoff with the Arner family, who bless his life to this day, and who he considers family.
Geoff moved to South Weber, Utah, at age 13. He loved the great people of that area and has many memories of those teenage years being wonderful. He graduated from Northridge High School in Layton, Utah, in 1994.
After high school, Geoff served a two year Christian mission for the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was called to serve in the Mississippi, Jackson Mission. Geoff absolutely loved his mission, and the precious friends he made serving in Mississippi and Arkansas. Geoff’s oldest son is named Jackson, after his mission.
Geoff met Emily Brooksby in 1999. They met and fell in love very quickly, and both would say it was love at first sight. Geoff and Emily were married in the Mesa, Arizona temple on January 14, 2000. The majority of their married life they resided in Mesa. Geoff loved Emily’s parents and siblings, and their spouses, and giant extended family. They have always loved and welcomed him, and have become some of his very best friends.
Geoff graduated with a doctorate of pharmacy, and worked as a pharmacist for many years. He was an extremely hard worker and loved helping people in his job.
Geoff and Emily were blessed with three beautiful children, Jackson (age 22), Natalie (age 20), and Staci (age 17). Everything Geoff has done in his life has been ultimately to help and bless his kids. They were his heart in every way, and he was proud of the good people they have become. The last thing he said to each of the kids is that he loved them.
Geoff was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was faithful, true and good. One of the best things was to hear Geoff pray. He always prayed sincerely, and with a humble heart.
Geoff is survived by his wife, Emily, and three children, Jackson, Natalie and Staci. He is also survived by his parents, Hugh and Luana, and five brothers, Brent, Neil, Steven, Kevin and Alan, and their wives. He also will be extremely missed by Emily’s parents, Kent and Jan Brooksby, and her siblings, Melissa, Cynthia, John and Andrea, and their spouses. He has countless aunts and uncles, cousins and friends who will also miss him immensely.
Geoff became sick suddenly the first week of February, with complications to his heart and undiagnosed diabetes. It was a miracle to be able to have a few good days with him, before he rapidly declined. Geoff passed away on February 16, 2024. Our hearts are broken, but we have faith in the Savior, Jesus Christ, and His redemptive power over death, and his ability to heal our broken hearts one day. How sweet the peace this knowledge brings to our lives at this time.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 11:00, with a prior visitation from 9-10:30, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 1852 N. Stapley, in Mesa, AZ. He will be laid to rest in the Mesa cemetery.
Thank you for the many well wishes, prayers and service to the family.
