George Edmund Chaffee III

George was born in Queens, New York on January 20,1970 to parents Emily Given and George Chaffee Jr. He graduated from Riverview High School. George served in the Army from 1988-1992. Then he attended Aviation Maintenance Technology School and received a Specialized Associates Degree. George worked for 25 years as an Aircraft Technician for SouthWest Airlines.

On March 19, 2006 George would marry Maria V. Tapia in Sun City West, Arizona.

George was a passionate fan of the New York Giants. He loved to have backyard bbq's and swim in their pool, listening to his favorite classic rock songs, a good beer (his favorite being Stella and St. Bernardus) and his Ford F150 Raptor truck. His favorite place to be was traveling with Maria to Rocky Point, Mexico together they would spend their time on the beach collecting seashells.

George is survived by his loving wife; Maria V. Chaffee, his children; Sophia Solis and Daniel Solis, granddaughter; Leyla Solis, father; George Chaffee Jr, mother; Emily Ferrara Given, step-mother; Sandy Chaffee, siblings; Christine Vannarath, Barbara Seibert, Michael Chaffee, step-sisters; Jessica Girres, Kerri Bottema, Jennifer Edmondson, nieces; Karyn Chaffee, Paige Vannarath, Sydney Seibert, Olivia Seibert and nephew; Sean Seibert Jr. He will be missed by all of those who knew him.

A Funeral Mass will be held in George's honor on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 10am at St. Anne Roman Catholic Church; 440 E. Elliot Rd. Gilbert, Arizona 85234. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 11am at Mariposa Gardens; 6747 E. Broadway Road Mesa, Arizona 85206. He will be laid to rest with Military honors following the service at Mariposa Gardens.
