George Dennison Pringle, born June 12, 1922 in Punxsutawney, PA to Dr. Franklin and Edith [Powell] Pringle, passed away on August 31, 2014 in Mesa, AZ at the age of 92. George served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater. Following the war, George left active duty and remained in the Army Reserves until retiring at the rank of Colonel. He graduated from Penn State University, where he met and married his beloved Louisa Wetzel. After moving to Arizona he worked for the Dept. of the Army as a civil servant and parttime at the Greyhound Dog Park. He was an avid sports fan and his favorite teams were the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Phoenix Suns. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing golf. He also enjoyed doing yard work as well as filling out the New York Times crossword puzzles. George is survived by his children Marcia Rinehart, Karen Graney and Todd Pringle; grandchildren Spencer Rinehart and Kyle and Kasey Graney and his great grandchildren, Taylor, Kyle Jr., Connor and Aislinn. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, his son Eric Powell Pringle and his beloved wife, Louisa Pringle.
