

Gloria Ann Vega “Cha Cha” passed away April 27, 2014 in Mesa, Arizona. Born to Gloria Alvarado Vega and Oscar Rodarte Vega, Cha Cha arrived March 30, 1969 in Mesa, Arizona. She was one of three siblings and was very loved by her family, friends and all who knew her. She lived in Tempe all of her life and proudly graduated from Tempe High School.
Cha Cha knew many people and was very social. She had a mind of her own and was known for her free spirit. She loved children and was always kind to people on their birthdays by giving them a $1 bill in their birthday cards. She loved to celebrate the holidays. Her most prized possessions were her doll named “Yikes” and her over-stuffed wallet that she carried with her at all times, in which she filled to its capacity with pictures of the people she loved. Some of her favorite past times were checking the mail, cutting coupons and advertisements of things she liked and wanted. She liked to color, draw, and write letters to friends and family.
Also, Cha Cha liked walking to Bill’s Market to buy her main favorite past time of all, “chewing gum”. She was a kind and happy person who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her parents Oscar and Gloria Vega; her sister and brother in-law Margaret and Ralph Ruelas along with her nephew and niece Benjamin and Celeste Ruelas; her brother Oscar Vega Jr. and her nephews Anthony and Dominic Vega.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 9:00-10:00 AM, with a Rosary at St. Margaret Catholic Church 2435 E. McArthur Dr. Tempe, AZ. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM with burial to follow at City of Mesa Cemetery 1212 N. Center St. Mesa, AZ 85201.
