She was 95 years old.
Hazel was born in Arkansas May 31st,1924, but traveled to Arizona as a young girl and never left her beloved Tempe. She claimed to be a Tempe native and loved her town as she watched it grow over the years.
Hazel married Tempe policeman George A. Boyd, who later became the Tempe Justice of the Peace. She is predeceased by her husband.
From 1957 to 1982 Hazel was the manager of the Tempe S&H green stamp store. After retiring she took up quilting as a hobby, and loved making quilts for her family and friends.
Hazel is survived by her two children; John Boyd, wife Susan and Janet Boyd McSpadden, husband Leland; three grandchildren Cindy Lincicum, Jeff McSpadden, and Michelle Teason; and eight great grandchildren.
Her quick smile and love for her family and friends will be greatly missed. A special thank you goes to her caregiver and friend Zofia Cychowski.
Hazel's common expression was "WOW!"- and we are sure when she passed she was saying "Wow!"
