

Hazel Dorinda Harrington passed away on October 24, 2011, in Mesa, Arizona. She was born on February 3, 1925 in Downey, California, to Edward and Alice (nee Ball) Bettington. On September 3, 1948, she married the love of her life, Dave, in Portland, Oregon. Hazel was a loving wife, proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was active in many organizations over the years, including the P.T.A., the Boy Scouts of America, the Girl Scouts of America and the Seattle Youth Symphony, where she served as Board Treasurer. Her career was spent as a teller for Bank of America. A skilled seamstress, and an arts and crafts expert, Hazel loved to make hats and other items. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards with her friends at Leisure World, traveling, and attending concerts, and she organized many wonderful family gatherings. Hazel is survived by her husband Dave, son David and his wife Regan of San Francisco, California, daughter Kaethe McCoskery and her husband Tom of Seattle, Washington, three grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. A memorial service honoring Hazel will be held at the Leisure World Club House on October 29, 2011 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given in her name to the Musical Instrument Museum, 4725 E. Mayo Blvd., Phoenix, Arizona 85050.
