Helen Elizabeth Lewis

She was born on February 5, 1922, one of 4 children to Guy Orton and Jessie Elizabeth (Fristoe) Shaver in Columbus, Ohio. She grew up in Columbus, and lived there until 1960. She met Russell Howard Lewis, and they wed in 1946. Together they moved to Arizona in 1960. She had worked for Motorola, as a line supervisor, until her retirement. She didn’t stay retired for too long, as she then worked in a restaurant as a hostess, waitress until her 70’s. She loved to play cards, playing games such as Pinochle, Bridge, hand and foot. She was also a baseball fan, watching her beloved Arizona Diamondbacks being an avid fan. She also loved to read her bible, loved church, and she always paid her tithing. She was a member of Broadway Christian Church in Mesa. She was very independent, and was a planner.

Helen is survived by her children, Stephen Lewis (Melody), Kenneth Lewis (Patty), Debbie Maldonado; grandchildren Tina Giovanetto, Sharie Dobson, Brian Lewis, Jennifer Froese, Sarah Wolten, Katie Lewis, Cindy Lewis, Nick Maldonado; 14 great grandchildren, numerous great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11 am at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park.
