59, of Mesa, AZ, passed away on August 13, 2016. He was born on May 24, 1957, the youngest of 3 children to Ernest James and Virginia (Mein) Fitzgerald in Mineola, New York. He worked for a time at Belmont Park horse racetrack, working in the stables. He moved to Arizona in 1978, and owned a handyman service. He loved to golf, loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and spending time in the mountains, and enjoyed watching sports. He was a loving brother, uncle, and friend. Chief is survived by his brother, Dennis George Fitzgerald (Carol); niece Veronica Coffin (Benjamin), Kelly Fackelman (Robert); nephews Scott McGarry, Kevin Krug and great nephew Benjamin Coffin. Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care is entrusted with the arrangements.
