Janet Irene Rockwell

Janet Irene Rockwell, 72 of Mesa, Arizona passed away on December 20, 2016 at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center. She left this world with family by her side after a courageous battle with leukemia. Janet was born in Utica, NY on May 6, 1944 to George and Gladys (Reardon) Gregory. She graduated from Whitesboro Senior High School. She married the love of her life Frank C. Rockwell Sr. on September 4, 1965. They were married 51 happy years. She worked as a court clerk for the town of Marcy, NY from 1982-2002 and was a caring foster parent and provided in home child care to over twenty children through the years. The couple relocated to Mesa in 2002, where she worked alongside Frank as a security officer for Pinkerton Security until retirement.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, antique car shows, shopping, and any outing with Frank. Janet loved watching and talking about the characters on Days of Our Lives. She lived her life putting her husband first, making sure that they both enjoyed every moment with each other each day. Janet never met a stranger, she loved talking and visiting with everyone. Janet is survived by her husband Frank C. Rockwell, Sr.; their three children Frank (Vickie) Rockwell, Lisa (Tim) Atanasoff, Lori (Marcel) Wrobel; four grandchildren, Amy (Doug) Hurley , Tim Atanasoff, Jennifer Atanasoff and Morgan Wrobel; and three great grandchildren; Carson, Owen and Harper Hurley. She also is survived by a sister, Terri Reardon, mother-in-law, Mary Rockwell and sister-in-law, Sharon LeRoy. Janet also leaves behind her faithful dog and walking partner, Heidi.

Janet touched many lives. Family and friends are invited to services on December 28, at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care, 6747 E Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ 85206. Visitation is 3:00-5:00PM and services will begin at 5:00PM.
