At the age of five Jeannine’s family moved to Ogden, UT where she grew up with her older brother Eugene Hansen. Jeannine graduated from Ogden High School in May of 1950. On December 22, 1950 Jeannine married Kenneth R. Merrill in a ceremony at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd located in Ogden.
Jeannine and Ken raised three daughters. They enjoyed many years boating, water skiing and camping. In December of 1974 they moved to Tempe, Az due to a job transfer opportunity for Ken. They resided in Tempe for the remainder of their lives together. They would have celebrated 65 years of marriage shortly after Ken’s death in 2015. Jeannine is survived by her three daughters, Penny Grondel (Greg) of Layton, UT, Lori Fenton ( Roger) of Queen Creek, AZ, and Jamie McBride (Mike) of Chandler, AZ. Jeannine was a special Grandma to 11 grandchildren and Great-Grandma to 19 great-grandchildren. She will be sincerely missed by all.
