Jimmy “Jay B” Bounphengsy passed away on February 27, 2026, in Phoenix, Arizona, at the age of 43. Born on October 26, 1982, in Stockton, California, Jay B carried the spirit of his hometown and his culture with him wherever he went.
Jay B was proud of his Laotian heritage and deeply committed to uplifting the Asian community. In Northern California, he became known as a passionate voice and major contributor to the Stop Asian Hate movement, standing up for dignity, respect, and unity. He believed strongly in protecting and supporting his community, and he used his voice and presence to bring people together during times when it mattered most.
Above all, Jay B was a family man. He is survived by his loving mother, Sountone; his brother, Lammone; his cherished daughter, Juliet; and a large extended family of cousins, aunts, and uncles spread across the country. His love and loyalty to his family and friends were unwavering, and those who knew him understood that once you were part of Jay B’s circle, you were family for life.
Jay B was known for his pride, his strength, and his big heart. He had a way of showing up for people—standing beside them, supporting them, and protecting those he loved. Even during difficult times, Jay B would always reassure everyone around him with the same words: he was “always OK,” often putting the feelings of others before his own.
Those who knew Jay B will remember his loyalty, his cultural pride, his courage to speak up for his community, and the deep love he carried for the people in his life. His presence left an impression that will not fade, and his legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the community he helped strengthen.

A Funeral Service will be held at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 South Power Road, Mesa, AZ 85206, US, on March 9, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
