She was born August 3rd 1963 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the oldest child and only daughter to Joan & Richard Aiken. She went on to spend many years in Reno, NV, and Mesa, AZ.
JoAnn had over 30 years of experience in the world of banking/finance, most recently with Alliance Association Bank, handling many of their East coast HOA accounts. She was a kind and generous soul that could brighten up any room with her laughter and smile, and was always thinking of others first. Her honesty and loyalty, especially to her family, was second to none. She loved all animals great & small, especially her dogs, and was a great fan of old musicals and "classic" Disney, with "Lady & The Tramp" being her favorite.
JoAnn leaves behind her best friend, soul-mate, and husband Les Wagner, who she met in the Autumn of 1979 while attending Mesa High School. Her stepfather's reassignment to Oakland, CA, forced a relocation after only 6 months, but the circle of life and wheels of good fortune brought them back together in 2000 and they were married for 20 years.
She was recently preceded in death by her mother, Joan Elyse Dunton, and stepfather Daniel H. Dunton, both of Livermore, CA.
She is survived by her father and step-mother, Richard & Joanne Aiken of Reno, NV, and in-laws Les (Sr.) & Irma Wagner of Mesa, AZ.
She also leaves behind two children from a previous marriage, daughter Nichole Elyse Walker and son-in-law Richard, and son Chase Daniel Aiken, both of Reno, NV, three grandsons, and a brother, Patrick Aiken, of Danville, CA.
As per her request, no services will be held, but a donation in her name to any animal rescue organization of your choice would be appreciated.
