Johanna C Pinanug

Johanna Pinanug passed away at the age of 71 on May 17, 2025 at 9:05 pm with her family by her side, in Mesa, Arizona.

Born on June 9, 1953, in Yap, Micronesia, Pinanug was the 3rd eldest child and the oldest daughter of 8 children.

She married Martin Gargog and they had 6 boys and 1 girl. When all their children were still young, Pinanug was preceded to Heaven by her husband and she raised all 7 kids on her own.

She is now joined with her husband and 5th child, Tomo (Tamagtamdad), in Heaven.

She is survived by her

5 sons: Dabchur, Tamagmoon, Ranganbay, Gargog, Tamagwag

1 daughter: Bugulee

8 granddaughters: Tinngig, Laabrug, Luchuen, J. Pinanug, Tanam, S. Pinanug, S. Bugulee, Emma

5 grandsons: Jerome, M. Gargog, Vince, Gargogtamdad, Mangarfir

1 great grandson: Ritchie

And by her brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, family-in-law, relatives, friends, village family, village women folk, her island community, and lastly her Rull municipality.

She was a strong-willed, hardworking, and passionate woman. Before coming to the United States, she enjoyed tending to her garden and loved flowers, specifically orchids.

Thank you, mom, for all your support and love. We are all going to miss you and it is time for you to go and rest peacefully.

Her presence will be greatly missed and her memory will stay on with us in the stories we will retell and the strong love that we share in our family, with friends and our communities.
