He was born on March 19, 1944 in Mesa, Arizona to his late parents, Lupe E. Gonzalez and Isabel L. Gonzalez.
Joseph was raised in Lehi, Arizona and graduated from Mesa High School. After graduating high school Joseph attended Lamson College for his CPA, he then proudly worked as an electronic salesman for Metermaster. Joseph started out in the storeroom stocking and worked his way up to inside sales and then an outside salesman position in 1979. In this position Joseph's true salesmanship came out with his great ability as a people person. There was no doubt that his success was because he had great charisma and care for all of his clients.
While working at Metermaster, Joseph married Susan Harbaugh and together they had two sons and a daughter, David, Michael and Melissa. Previous to these children Joseph had a son, Ray Gonzalez and Susan had a daughter, Sherri Harbaugh.
Joseph's faith was a big part of his life. He was a practicing Catholic at Queen of Peace Church until the Lord called him home.
Joseph's hobbies and past times included fishing, movies, cooking or barbequing, traveling, watching sports, playing the guitar and listening to music.
He is survived by his five children: Ray, Sherri, David, Melissa, and Michael; six grandchildren: Cody, Shane, Kimilyn, Dominic, Brandon, and Ariana; the "Pooch" Franklin; two siblings: Isabel Gullord and Lupe Gonzalez (and "the best sister-in-law ever" Norma Gonzalez); and six nieces and nephews: Daniel, Javier, Veronica, Leticia, Tony and Garrett.
