

On December 1,2021, Heaven gained another Angel as Julian Edward Harmon transitioned to eternal reward. Born on November 21, 1949, to James Harmon(deceased) and Gertrude Harmon(deceased) in Chicago, Illinois. As a young child, an aunt gave him the nickname of Baby-Boy. His friends and relatives knew him as Babe-Boy or Babe for short. He was raised in West Philadelphia, the second of four brothers (David, Gregory and Victor). After graduating from Overbrook High School in 1967, Julian attended and graduated from Cheyney State College, Cheyney Pennsylvania in 1971. Following there, Julian attended Rutgers University Law School in Newark, New Jersey where he earned a Juris Doctorate degree in 1974.
After passing both the New Jersey and Pennsylvania bar exams, he started a civil and criminal practice in Philadelphia in 1974. During his lifetime, Julian has held prestigious positions in the legal and banking industries in addition to paralegal teaching. The majority of his professional career was spent working as a Vice President in Risk Management for a multinational global bank.
On August 16, 1975, Julian married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Annette Reed. The two were married in Philadelphia surrounded by all of their family and friends. Although married for 46 years, Julian and Annette have actually known each other for 56 years! Their loving union produced four amazing children – Meredith, Megan, Julian Jr and Madeline.
Outside of spending time with his wife, his children and his 5 grandchildren, Julian had an affinity or more like and obsession for traveling the country and also playing golf. He was an avid golfer and developed many deep and lasting friendships on the course. Julian spent numerous hours on California and Arizona courses socializing with fellow golf buds and perfecting his “Tiger Woods” swing.
When it came to traveling the country, Julian’s mode of transportation was driving in a car. Julian loved the open road and completed many cross-country trips with his children. He would meticulously plan out each trip, including side trips along the way! He always made sure to include elements of fun, excitement and the purchase of souvenirs.
Julian was an active and loyal member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He was initiated at the Gamma Omega chapter, Cheyney State College. He recently celebrated his 50-year member anniversary and received his commemorative white blazer.
Julian leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Annette; his four children, Meredith, Megan, Julian Jr and Madeline; his five grandchildren, Caleigh, Billie, Dalton, Pia and Emory(Rocky); a daughter in-law Iris ;his brothers Victor and Lamont; one sister-in-law Karla; three nieces, Kaycie, Kassidie,Karris and a nephew Kourtland; a host of cousins and a multitude of friends.
