Kathleen M. Snyder

She was called Kathie, Kathy, Katie, mom, mommy, Gran, Gee, Gramma K and Grandma Kathy. I am writing as one of the ones who got to call her mom. Oh, and she was also called Fireball Kathy for reasons which will remain unknown unless you ask on of us kids.

Winston Churchill said once "Never give in, never give in, never give in, never give in, never give in." I never have heard her say that, but she lived by it. She never gave up on her kids when they went through their particular hells, or their kids, or the ones after that. She was always there. And now she is not. Many of us will see her forever. She was very brave in the truest sense of the word. Frightened of doing something, she did it. She travelled all over. She was an outgoing people-person and made friends, good friends everywhere she went. She was a Master Gardner, learned Navajo weaving. She worked with therapy horses.

Most know about her Scandinavian blood, and she also was French from her mama Sylvia; my little granmere. She learned both French and Norwegian cooking and baking and has made scrumptious food. She taught Sunday School.

We are heartbroken and deeply appreciate the sorrow and support and love over her death expressed by all of you.

A celebration of life was held, at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care, Mesa, AZ. A funeral service will be 2:00 PM, March 18, 2017, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1066 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15228, with a reception to follow.
