Mike was a 20+ year vet having spent a year with the Coast Guard before moving over to the Navy, in spite of his father’s wishes.
Mike was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Lois Keating as well as both brother’s Tim & Tom Keating of Florida. As well as his parents Lynford, Sr. & Frances Keating.
Mike loved his family and did his best in his own way to make sure everyone knew about them. He has left a hole in the hearts of the family he has left behind. Son, James Keating, daughter, Laura (Bill) Hershey, Grandkids, Nikki (Bryant) Robinson, Jim Keating, Jr, Brandi (Mike) Lopez, Richard Hershey, Victoria Hershey and Rico Ramos as well as his great grandkids, Maddie, Kaiden, Bradley and Rori.
Mike was best known for his terrible sense of humor, may God have patience with his jokes and military stories. His songs that we will miss him singing to us during road trips and his model building. We all knew his opinion on politics. He was a libertarian and was not afraid to fight for justice and what was right even at the ripe age of 82. He loved his Country, his history and could argue with anybody with facts and jokes. He was a councilman with the City of Chandler.
He was a member of the Subvets giving that love to his granddaughters Brandi who was part of the Subvets, and Vicki who followed his lead and spent 5 years in the Navy.
A celebration of life for Mike will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Melcher Roses, 43 South Stapley Drive, Mesa, Arizona 85204.
As he always followed his wife’s lead, in lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations be made to Wounded Vets.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.AdvantageMelcherRoses.com for the Keating family.
