Leonard Joseph Roman

Lenny Roman, 61, of Cortland, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014, following an accident in Prescott Valley AZ. Lenny was on his way home from Mesa, Arizona.

Born in Plattsburgh, NY, raised in Warren, Ohio, he graduated from Warren G. Harding High School where he played football. He attended Kent State University. Lenny married his high school sweetheart, the former Carolyn Lengel in 1972. Lenny and his family resided in Cortland since 1977.Lenny was known throughout the area for over four decades for his work in the construction trade, Lenny operated L. J. Roman Construction, Inc. later joined by his son Neil. Together they did residential and commercial work, specializing in masonry, concrete and carpe

Lenny enjoyed hunting, traveling and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn, daughters Jennifer (Jason) Nicholas of Cortland and Julie (Curtis) Casey of Mesa, AZ and son Neil Roman also of Cortland, his precious grandchildren Jacob and Addison Nicholas. Also three sisters Jane Devlin of Brookfield, Linda (Marty) Buterbaugh of Northeast, PA and Debbie (Paul) Stumpff of Geneva, OH and one brother David of Akron. He is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Ruth Daugherty Roman.

Friends and family are gathering for a memorial service on June 14, at 11:00 AM at Peter Rossi Funeral Home at 1884 North Rd NE, Warren ,Ohio 44483, and will be immediately followed by a celebration of his life at his home.
