Roy spent his formative years in Chicago, IL where he developed a love for baseball and became an avid cub’s fan. When he was eligible to enlist, he joined the United States Air Force, and served his country proudly until retiring. He loved and enjoyed his time in the Air Force, often sharing stories of his travels overseas with his children and grandchildren. Upon retirement he settled in Northern California, where he married and became a father to Terri, Lorri, Debbi and Joseph. Roy eventually moved to Phoenix to care for his family home and work in his woodshop that he was so proud of. For those that knew him, they likely have a cherished woodworking project Roy did especially for them. Over time, Roy became a grandfather. He shared his love of baseball with his grandchildren. He would not let a season go by without making it to catch a few of their games and provide encouragement. Many bonds were built visiting him to catch the Cub’s Spring Training or a Diamondback’s game. You could always count on Roy to have an open and welcoming home to all his family. Roy’s greatest gift was his devotion to his Children.
