Lester Eugene Farnsworth, also known by Les, Pumpa, Grampa, Papa Bear, Punk, Daddy, and Dad, left us on Sunday morning at Hospice of the Valley, Friendship Village in Tempe, after suffering an unexpected stroke. Les was born in Burlington, Colorado to Sumner and Gladys Farnsworth. He was the brother of Richard, Charles, Bill, Viola, and Sandra. He grew up, attended school in Burlington, and upon graduation from high school, joined the US Navy. On May 4, 1963, he married Helen Hill, and they began their adventures together. They were proud and loving parents of Steve, Bill, and Peggy. Les was even happier when his kids gave him grandchildren, and now great grandbabies. Les has always loved animals, especially his dogs. This past year, as he retired at the early age of 82 and spent more time alone because of COVID, he found his dogs the greatest of companions. Ann, Nella, and Troubles grieve the loss of their well-trained master and greatest spoiler of dogs.
He is now with his beloved wife, Helen, who has waited for him patiently, his parents Sumner and Gladys, his brothers Bill and Charles, his sister-in-law Wanda, and his brothers in law Tom Tompkins and John Sexton.
Les is survived by his children; Stephan, William (Elizabeth) and Peggy (Tony), grandchildren; Amanda (Johnny), Acacia (Tom), Jessica (Rob), Sumner, Savannah (Brad), Isaac, Alicia, Montana, Memphis and Dallas, great-grandchildren; Zoey, Jeremy, Cyrus, Lennon, and William, brother; Richard, sisters; Viola and Sandra, and sister-in-law; Shirley.
