Margarito Dennis Lopez, 70, of San Tan Valley, Arizona passed away on February 12, 2014 at home. Dennis was born on October 5, 1943 in Bayard, Nebraska to the proud parents of Esther and Margarito Lopez. Dennis met the love of his life, Phyllis, and married her at the young age of 17. They spent fifty-two years, nine months, and twenty-seven days of their married days together, welcoming four wonderful children into the world. Dennis had a motto for his children, “if you ever get into trouble just use my name,” which is ironic since Dennis was always looking for a way to cause trouble. Dennis was a loyal dad to his children and was always around when the kids needed him most, except for anything that would make him squeamish. He could not handle blood and broken bones. Dennis also couldn’t let anything go, he wrote himself a lot of notes that never got thrown away, and some might say he was a bit of a pack rat. Dennis filled his days with watching sports and putting puzzles together. Dennis is survived by his loving Wife Phyllis Lopez of San Tan Valley, Arizona; Four Children Roxane (Felix) Castorena of Gilbert, Arizona, Son Dennis (Kelly) Lopez of Papilion, Nebraska, Daughter Laura (Jeff) Kupfer of La Vista, Nebraska, and Son Joel (Patti) Lopez, of Mesa, Arizona; Eleven Grandchildren, Amber and Amanda Proffitt; Cachi Castorena, Aaron, Brandon, Joshua, and Spencer Lopez; Ryan, Michael and Taylor Kupfer; and Alexis Lopez; Sisters Kathleen (Carl) Greco, Virginia (Gary) Schmitt, and Patti Clark; Mother Esther Lopez; and all of Dennis’ dear friends. Dennis is preceded in death by his father Margarito Lopez and his brother Michael Lopez. A vistitation will be held at Mariposa Gardens Funeral Care 6747 East Broadway Road on Tuesday February 18, 2014, with a Mass service held on Wednesday February 19, 2014 at St. George Catholic Church 300 East 16th Avenue Apache Junction, Arizona 85119.
