Melody Lee Evans

Melody was born on January 12th, 1978, in Las Vegas, Nevada to Vivian Arlene Jones and Gerry Albert Stewart. She grew up mostly in Las Vegas but she spent time in her youth with her grandmother and grandfather in Plainview, Texas. She married Stanley Eric Evans on March 22nd, 1999, when she was 21, though she had met him at the age of 13. She was a medical assistant by trade and often impressed even the most seasoned doctors with her vast medical knowledge.

She had a myriad of hobbies, including writing beautiful and haunting poetry, taking nature photography, crafting of all kinds, watching reality t-v from cooking competitions to Survivor and Big Brother, and later, building Lego flower sets and collecting Mini Brands. She was an avid collector of everything witchy, from spell books to crystals. She was a lover of nature. The family often took trips to the Jemez Mountains in New Mexico for hikes and nature photography when her girls were little.

She is survived by her husband SJ and her two daughters, Melissa and Megan Evans; two sisters, Rhonda Montgomery and Rachael Covington, as well as their children.

Melody was preceded in death by her mother and father, as well as her grandparents.

Melody has been cremated and will remain with family. A Celebration of Life is being planned for November to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Melody will be remembered for her fiery spirit and tenacity. She was a pillar of strength for everyone around her and constantly taught others to stand up for their values. She will be missed.
