Milton George Meyer, born March 26, 1922 in Hampton, Iowa to George Henry and Dorothy Marie [Diekmann] Meyer, passed away on January 11, 2015 in Mesa, Arizona at the age of 92. Milton grew up in North Central Iowa in the German community of Rockwell and was raised in the Lutheran faith, most recently attending Our Savior Lutheran Church in Mesa, AZ. He graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked for McDonnell Douglas, which has since become Boeing, where he was most proud of his work on the F4 military fighter planes. In his down time, Milton enjoyed tinkering with the family cars. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Dorothy Meyer, his step-mother, Clara Meyer and one brother Marlo Meyer and is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor Irene [Voelk] Meyer; sons: James (Karen J.), Gary (Debi), David (Karen L.) and Douglas Meyer; granddaughter Jenny Meyer; grandson Chris LaVoy and great grandson Bison Romero. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel 6747 E. Broadway Rd in Mesa.
