In loving memory of our beloved son, brother, father, grandfather and friend who joined our savior Jesus Christ on May 3, 2025. Born October 7, 1960, Mitchell known simply as Mitch was a man who enjoyed life and brought joy to those who knew him well. He will be missed.
Mitch is survived by his five children: Carolyne, Sara, Jake, Nick and Cristin (Norton). His cherished granddaughter, Claire; his mother Irene; and three siblings Mike, Mindy (Layton) and his twin sister Melanie. He was preceded in death by his father Bruce.
Professionally, Mitch was a highly respected Tax Accountant, known in the business community for his tax acumen and his forensic accounting ability particularly dealing with mergers and acquisitions. Friends and associates described him as "smart and funny". At the time of his passing he was employed at Fiscal Partners in Scottsdale AZ.
Mitch enjoyed participating in sports as well as being a fan of professional sports. At Concord (CA) High School he competed in football, basketball and track. After high school he played football for two years at Diablo Valley College. Beyond organized sports Mitch enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing, wind surfing, scuba diving, and golfing.
While living in the San Francisco Bay Area, Mitch was an avid fan of the Oakland A's and the Oakland Raiders. Upon relocating to Arizona he became a loyal fan of the Arizona Diamondbacks, often taking his children to games. Mitch commissioned a large life-like baseball mural to decorate the bedroom wall of his sons- a reflection of his love for the sport and his desire to share it with his family.
Mitch also shared a love for his fellow man. He frequently invited friends and neighbors to join family outings. It was not uncommon for him to bring a total stranger in need to share a family dinner especially on holidays. His kindness and generosity touched many lives. He truly cared for people and never turned away from a opportunity to help others.
We will miss your lightheartedness, your goofiness, your laughter. Our lives are much sadder without you. Rest in peace Mitch. You were loved and respected by many. You will not be forgotten.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 10 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 8161 S. Power Road, Queen Creek, AZ. A lunch at the church will follow the service.
