She was born on July 31, 1929, in Milford, Maine, the eldest of 3 children to Roland M. and Leah F. (Hildreth) Field. She was raised in Auburn, Maine, and graduated high school there. She met David “Jim” Gilmour at a dance, and the two were wed in 1951. They moved to Pasadena, California, then after about a year they moved to Lakewood, CA in 1954. She worked for Fedco, and worked her way up to Vice President until her retirement in 1984. She then moved to Scottsdale where she and Jim built a home. They then later moved to Mesa. She and Jim were avid square dancing and round dancing partners. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting and making clothing.
Phyllis is survived by her husband Jim Gilmour; son David Gilmour Jr.; grandson Bryan Gilmour (Kara), granddaughter Kelly Knutson (Matt) ; great grandchildren Catherine, Ashlyn, Summer; brothers Richard Field (Diane) and Robert Field (Cloie); niece Leslie.
A memorial service will be held on March 20 at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral care at 11:00 am. Arrangements are entrusted to Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park.
