Phyllis "Pete" Elaine Wells

Phyllis (Pete) Elaine Wells, 92, died peacefully on October 14, 2022 at Holy Name Assisted Living at 112 S. Nebraska St. Chandler, Arizona 85225. Pete was surrounded by her close friends and caregivers when she passed.

Pete was born on October 24, 1929 in Elgin, Illinois at the Sherman Hospital. She was the daughter of Clinton and Mathilda (Ross) Peters. Pete graduated from Dundee High School, in the class of 1947.

Pete's future husband, Earl Keith Wells served in the US Marines and was involved in fighting against the Japanese forces from April 1945 until October 1945. He was Honorably Discharged June 20, 1946. After Earl was discharged, he married Pete on June 26, 1948. Pete and Earl moved to Chandler, Arizona in the fifties. Pete worked at Chandler Hospital with her best friend Betty (Mama) McKinney who recently passed away.

For those of you that didn't know Pete well, she was an extremely funny person. She was very sweet, warm and loving. She enjoyed bowling, riding motorcycles, playing bingo and being around people that were fun and made her laugh.

In additional to Pete's parents, she was predeceased by her sons Lawrence (Larry), Roger (Eddie) and her dearest friend Betty Mama McKinney. She is survived by her sons Steven and Terry (their wives), her daughter Lori Jo Heath and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by many friends who loved her dearly, Mary E. LeRoy, Mark Tabar, George Master, the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (Pastor Chris, Donna Tennison and Donna Anderson), Caregivers and friends at the Chandler Holy Name Assisted living Home (Lalaine, Rizza, Doris, Manuel and Valeta). She also has two beloved "Adopted Daughters", Dawn and Cindy. Dawn and Cindy never forgot to call and send Pete flowers, cards and gifts for all her Birthdays and Holidays. Pete also kept in contact with her two childhood friends from Algonquin, Illinois, Pat Kramer and Mary Lampman.

A Celebration of Pete's Life will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 739 W. Erie Street, Chandler, AZ. 85225 (480) 963-4127. There will be a viewing at 10 A.M, Pastor Christine (Chris) Stoxen will be officiating the services at 11 A.M. and a luncheon in Pete's honor will be at 12 P.M. The burial interment will be at Valley of the Sun Cemetery at approximately 1:30 P.M. at Valley of the Sun Cemetery , 10940 E. Chandler Heights Road Chandler. (480) 895-9232.
