Jan, I'm so sorry for you and your family 's loss. Ralph was a great boss and I really enjoyed working for him over the many years. I was out of town or I would have certainly attended his services. It was a privilege to have known him.

Dear Jan and Family,
It has been my pleasure to be Ralph's friend for the past 20 years or so. He stopped by a few of my live broadcasts and pretty soon I'd get a big smile when I saw that El Camino pulling in, wherever I was trying to get people to
buy something, try a new breakfast sandwich, or register to win a prize.  Ralph never came by for the "freebies" but once he did win the chance to throw out the first pitch at a Firebirds game!  We had fun with that one!  We both had roots in South Boston (my father was from there & was a Boston fireman), so it was like we were related!   I always referred to him as "Motorola's first employee" and judging from what Chris said about his $50 salary I probably wasn't far off!  As the years went by I got to know Ralph and Jan pretty well, even visiting Ralph in the hospital with the first cancer scare.  I also remember how happy he was when that new valve in his heart got him back on the golf course again. It seems like every time I saw Ralph he had conquered another life-threatening situation, but we all know that can't go on forever.  
I was working an event at Chandler Fashion Center in December and Ralph and Jan stopped by.  He looked a bit thinner, and he told me that he was fighting another one of those fights.  But of course he smiled and turned it into a joke.  Wendy was there with me, so the 4 of us had a really good visit, talking for almost an hour.  Finally it was time to go, with big hugs all around.  After we left I told Wendy "I think Ralph came to say goodbye".
I'm sure glad he did.  We'll miss you old friend, and Jan I'm so happy for you that you had such a loving support group of family and friends.  That large group at the service was a tribute to you as well as Ralph.  Hope to see you again soon.  Chris, we have a grandchild on the way, so we'll come see you!

Dear Jan and family,

We were saddened by the loss of your husband and father. I first met Ralph while employed at Motorola and Dave met him at one of the annual St. Patrick Day lunches at the Stockyards. He had a great smile, wit and wonderful outlook on life.

But the couple times I did meet with him

Dear Jan and family,

with my deepist sympathy, I wish you all the streangth and prayers at this hard time.

I met Chris in 1996. When we where first getting to know each other we talked about her parents. They are a big part of her life. I had lost my own Dad 30 years ago now.  I admired the relationship  Chris had with her Mom Dad. They talked Dailey. Over the years I have watched that bond grow. They helped Chris in so many ways. Though good times and bad times. Every step of the way with unconditional love. Chris is lucky to have had Ralph in her life for so many years. His love and life lessons  will live on in her memories. She will always feel his support and guidance.  I had not seen Ralph in a while. The last time I saw him was at a balloon glow. We had the Kid to Kid hot air Balloon. He looked great!  We had a good visit. I could just feel how proud he was of what he and Chris had accomplished. I am sure Chris is responsible for a lot of grey hair. But the relationship was also responsible for a mutual feeling of accomplishment, pride and unconditional love.  We should all be so lucky. He will be missed.

Aunt Jan and family, We are so sorry for your loss.Uncle Ralph was a great person,father grandfather and husband and best friend.Please know that he will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

We were deeply saddened by the new of Ralph's passing.  Both Jim and I knew Ralph from the Motorola day's.   Our heart felt condolences to you and your family.

So sorry for your loss Jan. Last time we saw you guys was in Lazy Boy a while ago. As usual, Ralph and I reminisced old times, the fun we had, the Motorola we knew, an era gone by. I will miss the occasionally coming by and visiting with Ralph while JR was doing home repairs. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thank you Dad for all you have given throughout my life.  You were not only an amazing man but an amazing father.  Your sun set far too soon for my liking but that is not up to me I suppose.  Your light will always burn within me and light the road ahead.  Not only were you a great dad but an amazing business partner and for this I am thankful, I just hope I can fill your shoes.  I miss you terribly especially the daily phone calls and uplifiting text messages about how great the store is doing and how proud you are of me.  I continue to feel your presence and hear your voice throughout my days giving me the strength and motivation to continue to make you proud.  All my love Dad and hugs and kisses too.....

Dear Jan and family, we were so glad we got to know Ralph. He had a great sense of humor, even when he wasn't feeling his best. Ralph was a great "dad" to his dogs, thanks to all that training he had with your large family. The photos are a wonderful reminder of all the fun times you had together.

 I have not see Ralph in a number of years. I remember him well.  We traveled together for Motorola on several occasions, on 2 occasions we visited Boston. Ralph showed me around Boston and we had dinner with his mother.  I'm sorry I had not seen him more recently.
