Raymond Cervantes, age 85, went to be with his Lord on July 19, 2023, at The Lund House, Gilbert, AZ. Raymond was born February 18, 1938, to Eugene and Carman Cervantes, in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from high school in 1957 in Rock Falls, Illinois. He then enlisted in the Navy, training and then spending most of his time in Japan and the Philippines. After serving four years in the military, he returned home and married Julia Kay Dennis on September 1, 1963. His work history was in Industrial Sales, becoming a Regional Manager, which took them to many states, including Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, and Texas, until they settled in Mesa, Arizona, in 2000. They loved traveling, visited many countries, including Egypt, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Panama, Guatemala, France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Austria, Australia, New Zealand, and China.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 59 years, Julia Kay, his sister Linda Jordan, his brother Eugene Cervantes (Kathy), and his sister Clara Eastburn (Larry), and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
His Memorial Service will be held at Christ’s Greenfield Lutheran Church, 425 N. Greenfield Rd., in Gilbert, AZ 85234, on September 30, 2023, at 10:30 AM.
