On October 3, 2020, Richard Barden passed away at his home with his wife Gwenn, son Kevin, daughter Connie and son in law Dennis nearby.
Richard was born to Ray C Barden and Ada L Presley Barden on October 9, 1933 in LaPorte, Indiana. He was the youngest of six children. He enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, golf, basketball and watching the same. He loved teaching others to play and enjoy sports as well.
In 1952 he married the love of his life, Gwenn Parker. On October 5, 2020 they had been married 68 years. He and Gwenn had two children, Connie(Dennis) and Kevin. He was a loving grandfather and great grandfather.
In 1963 he moved his family to LosAngeles, California and began working for Hughes Aircraft Space Division.
In 1988 he and his wife moved to Chandler, Arizona when Gwenn was transferred by her employer Honeywell.
He was a devoted Christian and since moving to Chandler, active in the Chandler First Church of the Nazarene.
He was a Lions Club member for more than 50 years. Since moving to Arizona he was a member of the Chandler Lions Club.
God, his family and service to others were the beacons that guided his life.
Services will be held at Valley of the Sun Cemetery for a graveside Memorial on Friday, October 9th at noon. The address is 10940 East Chandler Heights Road, Chandler Arizona 85248.
Due to Covid protocols, seating is limited. Please bring a folding chair. A reception at the Barden home will follow. Everyone is asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing at both locations.
