

Richard N. Bowen of Mesa, Arizona passed away on September 8, 2015 at the age of 91. Richard was born August 30, 1924 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Herbert N. and Alice Evelyn [Wrigley] Bowen. During his Jr. High School years, Richard met Bessie Wolford. It was at least a year before they started dating, but Bessie knew right away, (he) was the one she would spend her life with. On February 1, 1942, Richard and Bessie where married and spent the next 73 years together
Richard, a man of honor, character and courage; served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. Moving to Arizona in 1952, Richard worked in his profession as a lithographer. He and Bessie raised two children, Bonnie and Dwight and continued to be blessed with two grandsons and three great granddaughter(s).
Enjoying nature in his leisure, Richard explored Arizona's beauty by boating, fishing, camping and gardening; but what meant most to him was his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; son R. Dwight Bowen and brother Thomas He is survived by his loving wife Bessie; daughter Bonnie Mooreman; two grandsons Brent Richard (Jenny) and John Robert (Bettina) Bowen; three great granddaughters Megan, Emily and Ellie, loving extended family member Susan Bettcher (Tom) as well as many nieces and nephews.
