Very sorry to read that Bob has passed. I was looking to see if Vern had an obituary and saw this. Bob, Vern and I all worked together at Appetitos in the 80's and 90's. I lost touch with Bob after Vern died, but thought about him frequently. Im sorry to the Burdick family for their loss. Bob and Vern were my family for many years. I'll always love and miss them. A Great Big Thank You to all of you who have shared memories of my Uncle.  There are not enough words to explain how sad I am that he has left us all.  The Holidays will never be the same.  I am grateful though that he died peacefully and did not suffer.   I love you Uncle Bob forever and someday we will be reunited.  Cheryl


Twenty two years ago this month I met a co worker who would turn out to be a very good friend. We went through some tough times together. Bob was a good listener, supportive, non-filtered, outspoken, funny man and I still feel the loss of his friendship today.  But I smile when I think of him because we were in each others lives for many years.

To the Burdiak family,

So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Please accept my heartfelt sympathies on the loss of your loved one. I only met Bob once long ago when he came as a youngster with his family to visit his relatives in Canada, where his parents were born. My father, Peter Ducheck, and Bob's mother, Agnes were brother and sister. We had fun times when the whole family would gather together and visit.

Mr Bob was an amazing person. We met at Mountainside Gym. He made that place bright. I always looked forward to seeing him each morning. He was always energetic, had a huge heart, great sense of humor, and sincerely kind. He helped prepare our home prior to the birth of our twins by painting their room. I will really miss him. 
He reached out to me during the quarantine. I told him that I loved him and that when this was all over, we will have breakfast together.  We are truly blessed and lucky to have him in our lives.  Bob, we love you very much and miss you. 

The last couple of mornings at 6AM as the sun is rising over the horizon it has been a  low, huge orange-red ball. I think about calling Bob to ask him if he can see this. When I'd call him early, he'd always answer the phone, "Ron, what are you doing up so early?" That memory brings a smile through my sadness. He is missed big time.
