

Robert Cruse Harper, 92, of Sun City, AZ passed away March 2, 2021. He was born, at his home, April 6, 1928 to Alan Herbert and Amelia [Cruse] Harper. Robert attended North Platte High School, graduating in 1946. Following high school, he proudly served a tour in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was honorably discharged at the rank of Seaman First Class (S1Y0). He worked for many years as a locomotive engineer for Union Pacific Railroad, until his retirement. Robert enjoyed flying his own airplane and loved the outdoors, enjoying camping, fishing, hunting, and scuba diving. He frequented his fishing camps in Canada and his place in Show Low, AZ during the summers. Robert is survived by his daughter, Carlene Russell; his son Bob Harper (Kathy Verdino), four grandchildren, Rob Harper, April Ascheman (Chuck), Steven Russell (Rachel) and David Russell (Ashley); his great grandchildren, Shannon Harper, Valerie Harper, Desiree Harper, Ava Ascheman, Logan Ascheman, Jazdia Ascheman, Marie Ascheman, Azura Parsons, Zoey Russell, Tessa Russell, and Hannah Russell, as well as his great-great grandson, Cooper Enyert, and another one on the way. Robert is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was proceeded in death by his parents, four brothers Alan, Ed, Chris, and Leonard, daughter Beverly, grandson Jason Harper, and wife Beulah. He will be laid to rest at Ft. McPherson at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Mariposa Gardens Funeral Care.
