We worked with Rob in Yambio. He became a dear friend over the years, whenever our times teaching overlapped. We send our love and prayers to you. May God grant you peace.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Rob when he was teaching at Our Saviors Lutheran in Crookston, MN. My son was one of his students and I have great memories of working beside him to obtain a castle prop from The Children’s Museum in Duluth for one of the many productions he helped the students put on. I have his CDs and while I’ve not listened to the recently Inwill be bringing them out again. My deepest condolences to Paula and the kids and grandchildren. He will truly be missed.

Mr. Lutz will be forever cherished for his kindness and his extraordinary gift for connecting with the children fortunate enough to be in his classroom. My daughter was always eager to learn from him, and as a fellow artist, he made her feel special, reminding her that her talent was a true gift. He constantly encouraged her to see beyond the present and embrace her potential. His generosity and philanthropic spirit were a testament to the values he instilled in his students.

Our deepest sympathy  to the Lutz family.  I got to know Bob when we were riding back and forth from the Twin Cities to Fulda while we furthering our education. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you

Mr. Lutz was my fifth grade teacher. He had such a pure and kind soul. Those nine months my friends and I got to experience were the best nine months of my life, but I’ll never get them back. We learned, we laughed, we played, we listened to his music, and so much more. Mr. Lutz was just filled with love, love for people and love for God. I always look back on all the fun times I had in his classroom and how they will forever have an effect on how I go about my life just because of him. He was a man of God who was always overflowing with joy and happiness. He was poetic and wise. Every student he taught had a special place in their heart for him, which just shows how much love he brought onto this Earth while he was here. He was such a blessing and he’s resting in a better place now. With prayers and love, we’ll miss you forever Mr. Lutz.

Mr. Lutz was also my 5th grade teacher 2 years ago and I still remember how he sang, painted, and drew with so much passion and talent. He taught us so many things from owning his orphanage to his experiences with so many journeys. I have his wife, Mrs. Lutz, for my english and literature teacher and I am so lucky to have both of them as a part of my life. He was, is, and will be my favorite teacher for the rest of my life and I will never forget how fortunate I was to have been in his class. Thank you so much for your kind and caring soul, and I already miss you so much. You were a huge part of my life and to the world, and again, thank you for everything.❤️

Robert lutz (Mr lutz) was my fifth grade teacher two years ago, he was so amazing and shared the most incredible stories. Every Friday if we behaved, he was sing us the songs he wrote on his guitar, I felt so much peace and happiness every time he picked up his guitar and sang. If you were having a bad day, your sadness and bad feelings would immediately go away the second you stepped into his class. Mr lutz will be very much missed but I know that if he were sitting next to me, he would give me a big hug and tell me not to be sad. My brother left on a mission for my church when I was in fifth grade, the day he left, Mr. Lutz felt what I was felling not being able to see my brother for two years, he new what I was feeling and cheered me up with his wonderful and kind words. Mr. Lutz was like a great friend to me, he will be very greatly missed,  but will always leave an amazing place  in my heart.

(Part 2)  I remember how everyone including myself would bring different cards and all sorts of different gifts in the morning for Mr. Lutz. We would all talk about how much we miss you and how worried we were for you. My cousin, Layla and I predicted that you'd come back on the last day of school and we were right! everyone stormed over to you so glad to see you back. You were hugging everyone and everyone was hugging you. You thanked me for sending all those cards to you and how you were so grateful that I was praying for you over the course you were sick. I'm still praying for you, and always will. You weren't just a great teacher, but a great man and person. May you rest in piece, and may God be with you always and forever.

Mr lutz was one of the best teachers i’ve ever had i can’t even believe this. 5th grade was quite literally one of the best years of my life, and Mr Lutz was a big cause of that. He  taught my class so much stuff, played guitar and sung for our class, we played games, and he taught us real-life world stuff that we would need later in life. Never would i have thought this day would really become reality. And i’m 100% sure if i were to go back and ask every single kid in my 5th grade class if Mr Lutz was a good teacher, they would most definitely say yes. it was an honor to be one of the many students Mr Lutz has taught. You will always have a big place in my heart forever. You’re in a better place now. Thank you so much for being the best teacher i have ever had. Rest in peace. My heart goes out to you, Mr. Lutz. You were such a inspiring teacher with your music you'd sing to us at school whenever you would bring your guitar and your masterpieces you'd always bring to school and hung up somewhere in the classroom. I remember all the stories you told us whenever we had any free time in class and everyone always wanted to know more whenever we had to start another lesson. You were also so outstanding at teaching all of us and always would make sure we would understand the lessons and go through every step thoroughly with so much patience. For me, I remember when I was pretty apprehensive especially when it came to poems, and you were so understanding and so kind to me. You were always looking out for me and everyone else at our lowest. There was a day I had just came back to school and I was at some of my lowest, I had just lost my grandma that I was very close with and you'd sensed something wrong with me so you asked if I was alright. When I told you my grandma had passed and how i explained that i was very close with her. You hugged me and comforted me. Then for the next week or few you would always check up on me to see if I was doing alright which made me feel so incredibly better. It was so touching how you had a special handshake with pretty much everyone in the class and would make sure to do  the handshake with everyone once their name had popped up for driveline. When you were in Sudan visiting your orphanage for a good few weeks I remember how the class made a see you soon poster with messages from everyone and little drawings. It was so much fun making it and wondering who was gonna do what on the poster and  just that made us become closer as a class by putting so much love into that poster for you! you made that class become a family, Mr. Lutz. Then you returned back from Sudan, we were all so upbeat and ecstatic to see you. Then a bit later, when we heard you were sick, we all missed you so very much.  (Part 1)

Mr lutz had such a big approach on my life, he really helped me with my confidence in art, and was always so kind, I remember his songs he sang us and his stories he always told us. I remember when I was younger always being so excited to go to school, just to see new art work from him or a song he might just sing on a lucky day. He always brought up my mood on a bad day, even when I was being bullied, he really helped me feel better about myself, and was overall the best teacher I’ve ever had, he made school fun, and these days it’s hard to find such an inspiring teacher like him, I remember on the last day of school he showed up after missing so many days and our class would gather around him with gifts and cards, supporting him and crying, because we were so happy to see him. My love will never die, and will forever be cherished for him as his student.
